Commissioned Still Life Photography

Commissioned by Amanda, owner of the I Can Make Shoes makers school, to photograph all the steps, stages, chapter headings and cover for a step by step makers book on shoe making.

It had been on Amanda’s mind for over 10 years until the ideas and guides had solidified into the the text and the steps that are the tutorials & guides in the book.

Working along side Amanda to photograph every step, to clearly illustrate and convey the process or stage that would need to be carried out to progress onto the next step we whittled thousands of images down to the 250 plates that are present in the final hardback version.

Photographed entirely on location at her maker space in Bethnal Green, London, to carry through the authenticity and grounding into the images and the book.
